1998 - Greatest Singles & Soundtracks

Here is a compilation of some special radio/video versions and tracks that were published in official soundtracks, compilations and in Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row). All these tracks weren't in the 2Pac's albums, neither in the unreleased albums we gathered. Listen carefully to the radio/video versions, the mix or the lyrics have interesting differences. We haven't included the late released tracks (like "Troublesome" from 92 for How To Be A Player OST in 1997, Def Jam).

06. Live At Madison Square Garden (Freestyle) [restricted] feat. The Notorious B.I.G. / ?
  • Recorded in the summer 1993. Published in Mister Cee's Best of Notorious B.I.G. (1995, Tape Kingz).
07. Pain feat. Stretch / Stretch

08. Loyal To The Game feat. Treach (Naughty by Nature) & Riddler (DBG'z) / Reginald Heard
  • end 93 / early 94 - for the Death Row’s Above the Rim OST (1994, Death Row). Published in the vinyl and cassette editions of the album and as a b-side of the single Regulate (12'') (1994, Death Row) from the same soundtrack. Riddler has egually released an album with his group DBG'z P'hissed Off ! (1993, Bust it Records). He will also participate to Crucial Conflict's Good Side Bad Side (1996, Pallas Records / Raw Dope)
09. Poor Out A Little Liquor (Above the Rim OST) [radio mix] / Johnny J
  • 1993 (1994 for the radio version). Released in Poor Out A Little Liquor (12'') (1994, Interscope).
10. Runnin' (One Million Strong) feat. Dramacydal, Stretch, The Notorious B.I.G. & Red Fox / Easy Mo Bee
  • 1993 (94 for the chorus, the mix and the Pac's verse). Published in One Million Strong (1995, Mergela / Solar). Pac’s verse is different from the first version – re-recorded after Interscope refused the Out on Bail Demo (1993). The chorus is different too - also in a ragga style. The name of the singer is often unknown or erroneous. Some say it is Buju Banton (from the first version), Prince Ital Joe (often with Thug Life), an unknown Don Gorgon or even a so-called "Radio" (because in the common edition of One Million Strong, it was a "clean radio version" and written "Radio" in the back cover on side of the track to say that it was a censored version...). In fact, it is this time Red Fox, whose first album has been out in 1993 : As A Matter of Fox with Brand Nubian, DJ Premier, Bobby Digital Dixon. It is here, of course, the uncensored version.
11. How Long Will They Mourn Me [radio version] feat. Thug Life & Nate Dogg / Warren G
  • 1994. Published in How Long Will They Mourn Me/Str8 Ballin' (12'') (1995). The verses are slightly different than the LP version.
12. My Block / Easy Mo Bee
  • 1994. Published in The Show OST (1995).
13. Throw Ya Handz Up feat. Killa [chorus] / Moe-ZMD
  • 1994. Published in Pump Ya Fist (Hip-Hop inspired by the Panthers) (1995).
14. High'Til I Die / Tony Pizarro
  • 1994. Published in Sunset Park OST (1996).
15. Shit Don't Stop [video version] (by Thug Life & Y?N-Vee) / Stretch
  • 1995. Published in Shit Don't Stop/Str8 Ballin' (12'') (1995). It is a totally new version without 2Pac, recorded while 2Pac was incarcerated.
16. Me Against The World [soul power radio mix] feat. Dramacydal & Puff Johnson / Soushock & Karlin
  • 1994. Released in Me Against The World (12'') (1995, Interscope).
17. Dear Mama [big mama mix] / Tony Pizarro (?)
  • 1994 (1995 for the remix). Published in Dear Mama Remix (Promo 12'') (1996, Interscope). It seems to be an alternate mix in a clean version.
18. California Love [radio long version] feat. Dr. Dre & Roger Troutman / Dr. Dre
  • 1995. Published in Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row). In some editions of All Eyez on Me, there was the short radio version at the end of the second disc.

DISC TWO :

01. Troublesome '96 / Johnny J
  • Published in Gridlock'd OST (1997, Death Row).
02. Life Is A Traffic Jam feat. Eight Mile Road / Medusa
  • Published in Gridlock'd OST (1997, Death Row). Eight Mile Road was the name of the group formed by the three actors who were playing in the movie : 2Pac, Tim Roth and Thandie Newton.
03. Out The Moon (Boom, Boom, Boom) feat. Snoop Dogg, Bad Azz, Soopafly, Techniec & Tray Deee / LT Hutton, Soopafly & Snoop Doggy
  • Published in Gridlock'd OST (1997, Death Row). This was a track for the first LBC Crew's album Haven't You Heard. It normally features all members of the LBC Crew but in this remix version, 2Pac has replaced the original verse from Lil' C-Style at the end.
04. Hit 'Em Up feat. Hussein, Kadafi & Edi / Johnny J
  • Published in Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row).
05. Never Had A Friend Like Me / Johnny J
  • Published in Gridlock'd OST (1997, Death Row).
06. Staring Through My Rearview feat. Edi & Kadafi / Hurt M Badd
  • Published in Gang Related OST (1997, Death Row).
07. Wanted Dead Or Alive feat. Snoop Dogg / Daz
  • Published in Gridlock'd OST (1997, Death Row).
08.  Smile For Me Now feat. Scarface & Johnny P (chorus) / Mike Dean & Tone Capone
  • Published in Scarface's Untouchable (1997, Rap-A-Lot).
09. Changes [Death Row version] feat. Talent / Big D The Impossible & 2Pac
  • Published in Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row). This renewed version of the 92's song could have really been made by 2Pac himself, maybe for his compilation project When I Get Free (1992-1996 Lost Tracks).
10. Made Niggaz feat. Napoleon, Hussein, Edi, Kastro & Kadafi / Johnny J
  • Published in Gang Related OST (1997, Death Row).
11. 2 of Akerikaz Most Wanted [video clean version] feat. Snoop Dogg / Daz
  • 3/21/96. This is a whole new recording with different music and softer lyrics for the video clip.
12. Unconditional Love feat. Eboni Foster / Johnny J
  • Published in Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row).
13. Life's So Hard [Death Row version] feat. Snoop Dogg (backs) / Daz
  • Published in Gang Related OST (1997, Death Row).
14. All Bout U [solo video version] feat. Nate Dogg & Snoop Dogg / Johnny J
  • 8/13/96. Seems to have been re-recorded. Contains a Pac's third new verse.
15. Lost Souls feat. Young Noble & Edi / QD3
  • Published in Gang Related OST (1997, Death Row).
16. I Ain't Mad At Cha [video version] feat. Danny Boy / Daz
  • 9/15/96. Fully re-recorded with a live band and a Pac's new final verse.
