1996 - War Gamez (Tha Diss Album)

It could be a nice front cover for a such album.

After recording the One Nation album part with the BCC in june - that could have been felt as a symbol of peace with the east coast -, 2Pac started to think about a whole diss album... But during the recordings, something turns him to realise the more intimate Makaveli, The Don Killuminati, The 7 Day Theory (that contains however traces of it - a lot of disses even in the more R&B oriented "Toss It Up"). But would he have totally given up the idea of this diss album ? He realised "Catching Feelins" in the end of august, just a few days before his death...

For this bootleg, we firstly thought about the name "War Woundz" that has been given to some Makaveli's bootleg (also "Ready 4 War"). But when we saw the handwritten tracklist of the late 2Pac+One Nation album "Ghetto Starz" with a crossed-off title "Rulez of the Game", we thought about the track called "War Gamez". That is the perfect title for this Diss Album.

So this bootleg includes leftover tracks from "The 7 Day Theory" and other late tracks from summer 96.

DETAILED TRACKLIST

01. Let'z Get Ready 2 Rumble (Let's Get It On) (Mike Tyson Dedication) / ?
  • 9/5/96. This song is the last track he recorded. He recorded it for Mike Tyson's fight against Bruce Seldon (September 7). In it, he already announced the next fight against Evander Holyfield (that would take place the 9th of november). We can notice that it wears the same subtitle ("Let's Get It On") than the first known 2Pac's recorded song (cf. "Benefits of Poverty"). So... the circle is complete !!
02. Hell 4 A Hustler feat. Edi, Hussein, Young Noble & Napoleon / Big Simon Says
  • 7/6/96. Remixed in Still I Rise (1999). Planned to be in an early version of the 2Pac+Outlawz album.
