1992 - Troublesome 21 / Black Starry Night / Fragile

"Troublesome 21" was the original name for "Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z." album. "21" was the age of 2Pac in june 92 when he started to record these sessions. 2Pac also thought about "Black Starry Night" for the name of this album. After the release of S4MN, "Fregile" was a title for a compilation of leftover tracks from the album.

DETAILED TRACKLISTS

101. Walkin’ Down The Streets of N.Y. (Freestyle) / ?

  • From a video of 2Pac in New York for Juice shot in 1991. "I’m in New York" go well with most of the tracks here that often sounds east coast.
102. Holler If You Hear Me [new york stretch mix] / Stretch
  • B-Side of Holler If Ya Hear Me (12'') (1993, Interscope). It could be an earlier version of the song. In the known tracklisting of Troublesome 21, it was the original version featuring Live Squad that was included. But, because it has been included in Out on Bail Demo, we chose to include another version of the song here.
103. Don't Call Me Bitch feat. Val Young / Lay Low
  • 2Pac says 92 in the song. Sounds like a Digital Underground production and we can hear Shock G in the backs.
104. I Wonda If Heaven's Got A Ghetto / Lay Law
  • B-side from Keep Ya Head Up (12'') (1993, Interscope). Remixed in a vibe style and in a modern way, clipped for R U Still Down (1997, Amaru). This song appears in a 93's single but it has clearly been recorded earlier. 2Pac re-used a verse for "Changes" in 1992, so this one was recorded a little bit earlier.
105. Sweet Black Pussy (Freestyle)
  • From a video of 2Pac in New York for Juice shot in 1991.
106. Nothin' But Love feat. Dave Hollister / Dj Daryl
  • B-side from "I Get Around 7'" (1993, Interscope).
107. 16 on Death Row / DJ Daryl
  • Remixed in R U Still Down (1997). Leftover track from Strictly 4 My Niggaz. Tupac says 92 at the beginng of the song.
108. When I Get Free (Souljah's Outro) / Lay Low
  • Slightly remixed on R U Still Down (1997) as "When I Get Free I". 2Pac is rapping with Soulja's voice so it's like a sequel for "Soulja's Story" from 2Pacalypse Now.
109. Still Don't Give A Fuck / DJ Daryl
110. Crooked Nigga Too / 2Pac & Big D The Impossible
  • This version without Stretch sounds more like the rest of the set. So it could be the second version of the song.
111. Papa'z Song [original dabastard mix] feat. The Wycked (aka Mopreme) / Stretch
  • B-side of "Papa'z Song" (12'') (1994, Interscope). Probably the first version of the song from Strictly 4 my Niggaz (1993, Interscope). This has no singing chorus here, only scratches
112. What Goes On feat. Wycked (Mopreme) & Mouse Man / ?
  • 2Pac says "Now I'm 21", so we are during Strictly 4 My Niggaz sessions in late 1992.
113. Pass The Mic (Freestyle) feat. Richie Rich / ?
114. Mr. Troublesome / JZ
  • published in Def Jam's How to be a Player OST (Def Jam, 1997). This track gave name to these recording sessions and is also known as Troublesome 92' by reference to the "Troublesome 96" from Death Row's Greatest Hits. "Troublesome was after 2Pacalypse a new Pac's alias chosen after the media troubles about his first album.
201. Black Starry Night (Against All Odds) (Skit) / ?
  • Remixed on R U Still Down (1997). 2Pac annonces the featuring of Above the Law, The Underground Railroad... and Treach (for maybe the song that has been published on Strictly 4 my NIGGAZ in beginning 1993).
202. Let Them Thangs Go feat. Spice 1 (speaking) / ?
  • Remixed on R U Still Down (1997, Amaru). It sounds like a Digital Underground's production. We can hear an excerpt of "Talk like sex" from Kool G Rap's Wanted Dead or Alive album (1990, Cold Chillin').
203. I Get Around [original] feat. Shock G / Shock G
  • This pre-version is without Money B and feature another short unedited 2Pac verse.
204. Changes feat. Poppi / Big D The Impossible
  • Remixed on Greatest Hits (1998, Death Row) with new hook and slowed voice.
  • 2Pac says 1992 in the song. And we know that he recorded it during Troublesome times. Poppi was already a singing voice on "Part Time Mutha", in 2Pacalyspe Now.
205. Big Time feat. Live Squad / Live Squad
  • Recorded in 1992 (cf. live-squad.com).
206. Flex feat. Thorow Headz (aka Dramacydal) / Stretch
  • Released as a B-side from "I Get Around/Holler if ya hear me" single (1993, Interscope). It's clearly sounding like "Holler If Ya Hear Me".
207. Ghetto Gospel / Big D The Impossible
  • Awfully remixed on Loyal To The Game featuring an improbable Elton John (2004, Amaru). Leftover track ("due to legal trouble") from A Very Special Christmas 2 (oct. 1992, A&M).
208. Revenge of the Soulja (Soldier Like Me) / Big D The Impossible & Stretch
  • Remixed and conbined with verse from "Judgement Day" as "Soldier Like Me" in Loyal to the Game (2004, Amaru). Supposed to be the intro for Black Starry Night / Troublesome 21 / Striclty 4 My NIGGAZ. 2Pac is rapping with Soulja's modified voice, alter ego he created in "Soulja's Story" in 2Pacalypse Now. This sounds like a first session for "Souljah's Revenge" and "Guess Who's Back".
  • Samples: The Lord’s Prayer : Matthew 6:9-13 ; 2Pac – Soulja’s Story.
209. Gaffled Like That feat. The Govenor & Richie Rich / DJ Daryl
  • Released in  Govenor's Taxin (Tape, 1992). They say 92 in the song.
  • Samples: EPMD – So Wat Cha Sayin’.
210. Black Cotton feat. Mouse Man / Big D The Impossible
  • Recorded in beginning of 1993 ? Awfully remixed in Loyal To The Game (2004, Amaru) with Eminem & Outlawz. Before the Thug Life, Mouse Man was the partner of Mopreme Shakur.
  • Samples : Sting - Fragile ; Star Trek - The Final Frontier (The Movie)
211. Don't U Trust Me feat. Roniece & Dave Hollister (chorus) / ?
  • There are other versions of the song with uncomplete chorus (we don't hear one of the two voices).
212. 5 Deadly Venoms (Freestyle) feat. Treach (Naughty By Nature) & Grand Puba (Brand Nubian) / ?
  • From the late 92 like says Gran Puba, during or after the recording of the song of the same name.
213. Po' Nigga Blues / DJ Daryl
  • 2Pac wrote this song and recorded a demo for his friend The Govenor who will use it with this music in his album in 1994. 2Pac asked Shock G to remix it probably when he was in jail.
